Fall has come early to our part of rural Ohio and the change of seasons brought about many new and exciting changes for us too. Today our journey went off of the beaten path and onto a Coonpath! We secured a booth and a shelf at the Coonpath Road Antique Mall. We are now officially vendor #620! As you may already know, we also have a booth at the Heritage Square Antique Mall, number B5, and it is doing fine, but this is simply a chance to spread our wings a bit and be involved in a mall that is closer to home. Its a fine mall and I hope that you will come and visit us on October 1st!
Currently, I have the pleasurable task of deciding what sort of items to stock our booth and shelf with. For me, part of the fun is learning all of the obscure and interesting stories / tidbits about each piece that we squire to sell. Each piece tells a story and I love to pass those on to our buyers. For example, recently I came to own some beautiful vintage aprons that were sewn during the late 1930’s through the 1950’s. They came from a beautiful old farm house in Sunbury, Ohio, which was occupied by five generations. In one letter, the daughter, Mary, speaks of handcrafting some papier mache puppets, which we have for sale. I have included the letter and her story with the puppets. Part of our mission is to not only sell objects, but to sell tangible reminders of the past that tell a story. Each piece has its own story to tell and we simply pass it on to our customers.
We hope that as the weather turns cooler, you will stop by and visit our booth in both malls.
